Amie Applegate

October 1, 1971 — February 26, 2023

Amie Lynn (Rigby) Applegate passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 26, 2023, at home in Turah, MT.  Amie was born on October 1, 1971, in Butte, MT to Sonja Cyr and Dennis Rigby.  Amie was raised in Great Falls, Montana and graduated from Sentinel High School in Missoula, MT.  She attended college at Montana State University and was enlisted in the Army National Guard and Reserves.  Amie worked at Costco in Missoula for 26 years before retiring about a year after her diagnosis with Breast Cancer in 2018.  She had great admiration for her fellow employees, as she referred to them “her work family”.  Amie married Ed Applegate on June 3, 2017, her first and only marriage.  Though their marriage was cut short due to her medical condition, it never slowed them down.  Their adventures together sent them from San Francisco to New York City, a trip to Albuquerque for the Breaking Bad RV tour, and several trips to Las Vegas.  Amie’s passions in life were Oula Dance Fitness, where at one point she assisted in teaching classes and most recently her involvement with Chicks N Chaps, as she was on the Fund-Raising Committee for them.  Amie was very open about her journey with Metastatic Breast Cancer, constantly offering support and advice to others who were battling alongside her in support groups.  She never let her diagnosis slow her down, she always had an infectious smile on her face and a never quit attitude when facing setbacks during her treatment.  She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Vera Moore and father-in-law William Applegate.  Amie was survived by her loving husband Ed Applegate, daughter Cydney Applegate, mother Sonja Cyr, stepfather Rick Lloyd, father Dennis Rigby, stepmother Millie Rigby, and half-Brothers Jason Rigby, Jamie Rigby, Cory Rigby, and Jody Rigby.
