Barbara Ann Quade, 84, passed away peacefully at the Village Senior Residence on September 5, 2025. Barbara was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota, to Orrin and Dora (Madsen) Hall. She was a cheerleader in high school in Wibaux, Montana, where she met her future husband, Robert “Bob” Quade. They were married for 65 years.
She attended the University of Montana where she studied the Russian language. She also worked for years in administration in education in Washington and Montana. Her hobbies included traveling the world with Bob and friends, hosting international-themed dinner parties, square dancing with Bob, reading and participating in book clubs, playing bridge, pinochle, and bunko, sewing, quilting, and cross-stitching, creating beautiful hand-made cards, gardening, golfing, and walking. She enjoyed going to lunch with her friends. Her family also fondly remembers her delicious cooking and baking, especially her red velvet cake and banana cream pie!
Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Robert “Bobby” Quade, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Bob, her sisters Vonnie Erickstad and Judith Refsland, her daughters Denice Quade Susen (Peter) and Julie Parks, her granddaughters Brittney Parks, Amanda Parks, Helena Brooks (Cody), and Olivia Susen, and her great grandchildren Jace Ethridge, Autumn Rose Parks, and Addison Brooks.
The visitation will be held at Garden City Funeral Home on September 24, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm. The funeral will be at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on September 25, 2025, at 11am with another visitation beginning at 10am.
Donations may be made to the Red Cross.
