Bea Campbell

Beathe “Bea” Campbell, 96, of Missoula (formerly of Havre) passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Missoula Health and Rehabilitation. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Christ the King Catholic Church with interment to follow in the Missoula City Cemetery. Beathe “Bea” Campbell, daughter of Bernt and Synneva (Sleingtten) Vikse, was born February 23, 1929 in Saco, Montana. She attended schools in the Saco area and graduated from Saco High in 1947. She continued her education at Northern Montana College (now Montana State Northern) in Havre obtaining a bachelor’s degree in education. Bea met the love of her life, Jack Campbell, and the couple was united in marriage on December 26, 1959 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Havre. Four children were born to this union.

Bea was a dedicated teacher who took great pride in nurturing and shaping the minds of her students with compassion and care. She taught for over 20 years making a lasting and memorable impact on her students. She served as the Hill County (MT) Superindendent of Schools for a number of years. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Havre and Christ the King Catholic Church in Missoula. Bea volunteered with Stephen Ministries and was a Long-Term Care Ombudsman in Havre. Jack and Bea enjoyed traveling with their Good Sam Camping Club and RV’d all across the United States. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting in her free time. Above all else, Bea was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cindy (Scott) Hoselton, Morry (Barry) Campbell, Teresa (Arthur) Stithem; Karia Campbell; five grandchildren, Claire (John) Romich; Beth Hoselton; Paul (Abby) Hoselton; Keyna (Jerry) Allen; James Hoselton; six great grandchildren, Bridget Romich; Becca Romich; Christian Jack Hoselton; Eden Beathe Hoselton; Theodore Allen; Eleanor Allen; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Bea was preceded in death by her parents Bernt and Synneva Vikse; husband, Jack Campbell; brothers, Sig (Toni) Vikse; Einar (Sharon) Vikse; Stanley Vikse.
