Brent Mickelson

d. November 22, 2023

Brent David Mickelson passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2023.

Brent was born December 24, 1940 in Grass Valley, California. He was the oldest of nine children. He moved to Missoula, Montana when he was 15 after his Father Jesse died. His mother then remarried Merle Driggs.

The family moved around a lot and Brent wanted to stay in Missoula and finish high school, so he and his step-brother, Don, decided to stay. They lived in a scale shack in exchange for feeding animals. Brent graduated from Missoula County High School. After high school he worked as a logger, he then decided to go to electronic school in Salt Lake City. While living in a boarding home, one of his roommates set him up on a blind date. That's where it all began. He met his sweetheart, Jeanette Rohbock, in the summer of 1964. They were married September 9, 1965 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they had 5 children: Jeff, Mike, Jill, Susy & Amy. They raised their family in Orem, Utah and then later moved to Frenchtown, Montana in 1994.

Brent was a successful entrepreneur - he started a diesel shop in Lindon, UT and later a Gravel pit and excavation company in Missoula, Montana. He was known as the guy that could fix anything and everything. Brent was an avid gardener and grew a beautiful garden every year. He loved his family and took them on many adventures such as Lake Powell, visiting National Parks, camping, fishing, and hunting. His family meant everything to him. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Brent loved and served everyone. He served several missions alongside his wife for his church, including twice at the Bishop’s Storehouse and at The Ensign Ranch in Cle Elum, Washington. Brent was always looking for ways to serve, even strangers.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette; his children, Jeff (Jana) of Scenic, AZ, Mike of Frenchtown, MT, Jill (Phil) McLendon of Frenchtown, MT, Susy Allen of Coeur D’Alene, ID, and Amy (Blaine) Carter of Genola, UT. He has sixteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.

A viewing will be held for family and friends at  The Frenchtown Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 10:00-11:30, followed by the funeral at 12:00 pm.

Dedication of the grave will be at the Orem City Cemetery, Orem, Utah.
