Carol Serviss

May 28, 1944 — April 13, 2024

Missoula

Carol May Serviss, 79, passed away quietly at home on April 13, 2024.

She was born on May 28, 1944, to Theodore and Lilian Ward in Belvidere, IL. The family moved to Custer, SD, when she was a toddler. Many fond memories were made in Custer until the family moved to Missoula in 1956. Carol graduated from Missoula County High School in 1962. Shortly after, she won the Lilac Queen title. Carol worked in radiology for St. Patrick Hospital.

Carol met her first husband, Bill (James) Moody and were married on October 17, 1964. Carol had her first son, William, in 1966 and her second son, Thomas, in 1970. She was a wonderful mother. Carol and Bill owned and worked at Health Aid Pharmacy. She was very active in Missoula Christian Missionary and Alliance church as well as AWANA. She had worked for Dr. Priddy (and several other doctors in the office) with many responsibilities, including receptionist and office manager. She enjoyed crocheting.

In 2000, she married the love of her life, Dennis Serviss, gaining a son in Matthew Serviss and a daughter with Kendra Root. Dennis and Carol enjoyed many adventures together over the years. Destinations included an Alaskan cruise, Ireland, and many trips to the west coast. Long drives were one of their favorite pastimes. They really enjoyed keeping their beautiful garden together.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Dennis Ray Serviss, her sister, Shirley Snider, and her children: William James Moody, Thomas Ward Moody, Kendra Elizabeth Root, Suzanne Donahue Moody, Desiree Cherie Moody, Timothy Scott Root, and Augusta Le Loomis. She is also survived by her grandchildren: William Theodore Moody, Thomas James Moody, Alexandra Elizabeth Root, and Mackenzie Kay Root. Her family and countless friends will miss her loving kindness, sense of humor, and zest for life.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

Memorial services to be scheduled later this year.
