Carol E. Williams

Carol Elizabeth (Buckmiller) Williams, passed away May 16, 2026 at the home of her daughter in Lake Havasu City, AZ where she had been living for the past several years. She was born July 23, 1929 in Oroville, WA to Ezra and Marion (Bowes) Buckmiller. After completing 12 years of schooling in Oroville she attended Kinman Business University in Spokane, WA where she met Charles “Chuck” Williams of Lewistown, MT. They were married July 11, 1948.

In 1950 Carol and Chuck moved to Wauconda, WA where they operated the Wauconda Store and Post Office and were blessed with three children. In 1955 they moved to Missoula, MT and in 1957 they moved to the Turah area where they lived for 46 years.

Carol worked for Mincoff Auto Parts for 21 years and with her husband owned and operated the Turah Store and Campground for 10 years. They sold the store in 1992 and enjoyed several winters in Yuma, AZ. They built a home on their remaining acreage in Turah and resided there until 2002 when they moved to the Missoula Manor Homes.

Carol was very active at Missoula Manor with music, the Resident Council, monthly birthday celebration parties and led a weekly prayer group for the 21 years she lived there. She was also a long-standing member of the Missoula Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was pianist/organist and church Treasurer for many years.

Carol is survived by her sister, Ruth Cross of Scottsdale, AZ, sons Alan Williams of Wallace, ID, Michael (Julie) Williams of Hayden, ID, and daughter Susan (Williams) Chamberlain of Lake Havasu City, AZ., as well as seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Chuck of 57+ years, sister Barbara Porteus, brother-in-law Dave Porteus, brother David Buckmiller, sister-in-law Beverly Buckmiller and son-in-law Thomas Chamberlain.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 pm Sunday, July 26th at the Missoula Seventh Day Adventist Church, 800 South Ave W, Missoula, MT 59801.

Donations in honor of Carol may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church Building Fund, Missoula Manor Endowment Fund, or charity of your choice.
