Cheryl Otten

Cheryl Rae Brist Otten, 78, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023.

Burial will be held on November 1, 2023 at 10:00 am at Glacier Memorial Gardens. A memorial luncheon will follow at Famous Dave's in Kalispell at 1:00 pm.

Cheryl was born January 26, 1945 in Kalispell Montana to Robert H. Brist and Helen O. Anderson Brist, She was raised in Kalispell and Missoula and graduated from Missoula County High School in 1963. She also attended and graduated from Beauty College. She met Harvey Otten in Kalispell. They married and welcomed two boys, Rodger and Tommy. Cheryl was a stay at home mom, making sure that her boys and husband were always well taken care of. She was a good cook and baker. She was an active member at Bethel Baptist Church. After her husband's death, Cheryl moved to Missoula to live with and take care of her mother, Helen. She worked at Dillard's in Missoula and was very generous with her family, buying them the latest fashions for their birthdays and Christmas. She was loved by the staff for always bringing cookies and making wedding mints for the brides to be. She took care of her elderly next door neighbor until she passed away. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and other family and friends. Everyone who met her, loved Cheryl's kind and happy demeanor.

Cheryl is survived by her children, Rodger Lee Otten (Mary), Tommy Ray Otten (Jordana); grandchildren, Amanda Otten, Allison Otten, Acacia Otten, Destiny Otten, and Ian Otten, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. and Helen O. Brist; her husband, Harvey Raymond Otten; and brother, Darrell Robert Brist.
