Christopher Engh Johnson

August 5, 1961 — October 4, 2022

Christopher Johnson, 61, of Missoula, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at St. Patrick Hospital. A memorial service will be held this summer and organized by the family. Online condolences may be left at gardencityfh.com

Christopher Engh Johnson, son of Barry and Sheila (Rogers) Johnson, was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 5, 1961. He attended school in the Minneapolis area before enlisting in the Army. After his three years of service, Christopher was honorably discharged, moving to Montana to be closer to his father, whom he greatly loved and enjoyed hunting with. In addition to studying diesel mechanics in Missoula, he worked for a local truck service company for 29 years and was highly regarded for his charming charisma.

Christopher's true passion was the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gold prospector, and camping enthusiast. His friends knew him best as lovable and kind-hearted and enjoyed his charismatic storytelling. Christopher spent most of his days enjoying the outdoors, surrounded by nature.

He is admired most for pursuing his passions every day. Christopher filled his life with adventure; surrounded by his family and friends, he prided himself on spreading kindness and bringing laughter to his loved ones. Above all else, he was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed.

Christopher was a proud member of the NRA and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He loved and respected all wildlife and took pride in preserving their habitat. A donation to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation on Chris' behalf would be deeply appreciated if anyone wished to honor his memory.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Nicole (Jimmy) Carter; son, Brandon Johnson; four grandchildren, Charlee, Bradley, Clara, and Susanna; siblings, Denise (Kevin) Shiffler; Cindy Johnson; Tera (David) Gross; Jonlyn Johnson Leier; Buddy Johnson; seven nieces and seven nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

Christopher was preceded in death by his parents, Barry and Sheila Johnson.
