Cindy Marie Bauer, 75, passed away peacefully at her home on March 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband and children. Born on June 10, 1950, to Eleanor Marie Kemi Fuge, Cindy spent all of her beautiful 75 years in Missoula, the place she cherished and proudly called home.
Cindy shared 43 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Max, and together they traveled to amazing places hunting, fishing, and collecting memories from countless adventures. She built a fulfilling career as an interior decorator, a profession that allowed her to share her creativity, warmth, and eye for beauty. Cindy loved to collect antiques, bring old treasures back to life, and was a talented seamstress whose careful hands and creative spirit made every project special.
Above all, Cindy was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known for her loving spirit, her selflessness, and the deep pride she carried for her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Max Bauer Jr.; her children Brent Sperry (Brandee), Christie McCullough (Mike), Chad Bauer (Tiffany), and Eric Bauer (Brittney); her grandchildren Myles Sperry (Maddi), Karlee Sperry, Gracee Sperry, Turner McCullough, Weston McCullough, Layne Bauer, Tyler Starkey, and Kyle May; and her great grandchildren Avery Sperry and Issac Starkey.
She is also survived by her siblings Cathy Ohern (Dan), John Fuge (Cheryl), Bruce Fuge, and Sandy Mytty (Mike), several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and many cherished friends.
Cindy’s legacy of love, kindness, creativity, and beauty will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Our family would like to express our deep gratitude to Hospice for their kindness and exceptional care, as well as to Dr. Sorenson and the team at the Montana Cancer Center for their dedicated support.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your charity of choice. To honor Cindy, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
