David Robert Lester

David Robert Lester, 81, passed away at St. Patrick Hospital on January 26, 2022. David was born on December 29, 1940 to Osburne and Jane (Piatt) Lester in Butte, MT where David also spent much of his childhood. David graduated high school in Great Falls, MT and attended the University of Montana and Montana State University.

David met his wife of almost 46 years, Carole Heckathorn, on a blind date, and they later married in March of 1976. David worked as safety manager for Davis Transport and an insurance adjuster for Cook Adjusters. He lived in Florence for 21 years and Lolo for 20 years. He enjoyed boating and his airplane. He loved flying with his family and friends. He also took great interest in genealogy. David was a good friend of Bill W. for 38 years.

David is preceded in death by his mother Jane, father Osburne, step-father Earl Armstrong, brother Bruce and sister Sandra Branch. He is survived by his wife Carole, sons; George, Paul and Marc Lester, daughters; Tana McKinney and Holly Bickel, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Revive Church in Stevensville, MT on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 with viewing starting at 9:15am and a Celebration of Life at 10:00am. Interment will take place at Florence-Carlton Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.gardencityfhcom.
