Dave Lineback, 88, of Missoula, Mt, passed away November 21. He was born September 26, 1937, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, the son of Homer and Betty Lineback. He grew up with his sister Donna and brother Danny, and he carried the close-knit values of family into every chapter of his life.
After graduating from Corvallis High School, Dave began a long and faithful career at Hoerner-Waldorf (Stone Container), where he worked for 39 years. In 1959, he married Myra Billie Mintz, and together they built a family rooted in love, faith, and service. They were blessed with a daughter, Brenda, and a son, Brian, along with four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who were the light of Dave’s life.
Dave’s life was defined by kindness, a soft-spoken nature, and a generous spirit. He taught countless people valuable lessons—not with words alone, but by example and a steady, compassionate presence. He never turned down a request to help others, always offering assistance with a smile and joy.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Dave enjoyed time spent with his friends and loved ones, cherishing the camaraderie and memories made during those outings. He looked forward to his weekly breakfast with Stone Container coworkers and to the regular breakfasts with his church friends.
Dave was a devoted member of Christian Life Center, where he served as head usher for many years, greeting people and ensuring they felt at home in God’s house.
He is survived by his loving wife, Billie; daughter Brenda and her spouse, Russ; son Brian and his spouse, Mary; grandchildren Dawna, Jase, Troy, and Brianne; and great-grandchildren Ashton, Aspyn, and Kaia. He also leaves behind a circle of friends and those whose lives he touched with his generosity and kindness.
The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to all who have offered support and prayers during this difficult time.
