David Alexander “Alex” Olson, 10, of Missoula passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Community Medical Center in Missoula. Alex was placed to rest in the Victor Cemetery near Victor, Montana.
Alex Olson, adoptive son of David and Kelly Olson, was born October 1, 2012 in Butte, Montana. He was a cool kid. In another life he would have been an athletic little boy. He wasn’t though. He grew up with a family that loved him to pieces, and he loved his family to pieces too.
Alex had a seizure disorder, and it took a lot from him. He had to overcome challenges that would leave adults behind. But as a kid he had a hard time keeping up. He used a wheelchair, was often hooked up to machines, and was followed by an ensemble of nurses. If you were in the room with him he was hard to ignore. He always made a point to make it known that he loved you, repeating “nice nice nice!” or “kiss kiss kiss!” when he’d see you. Of the five words he could speak, two of them were to communicate his affection to you. Given all possible paths in life, we are glad that our path intersected with him.
A special Thank You to the medical staff at Community Medical Center in Missoula and at the Kalispell Children's Hospital for their amazing care for Alex throughout his life.
Alex is survived by his parents, David and Kelly Olson; siblings, Keegan (Elinor) Olson; Daniel (Corina) Olson; Jacob Olson; Christina Olson; Hosea Olson; Ted Olson; Liam Olson; Bio-Sister, Gabby Olson; grandmother, Kae Rosenberg; numerous nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Rosenberg.
