David Lee Pumarlo

FLORENCE ~ David Lee Pumarlo, 83, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, January 25^th, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. 

He was born on December 15,1939 in Kenmare, North Dakota to Floyd and Helen (Wulfekuhle) Pumarlo. 

Dave grew up on a farm with his three siblings and many cousins.  After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Army. He spent most of his time after basic training in Germany and traveled on a boat for 30 days to get back to the states. 

He then worked road construction, which brought him to Montana, where he met the love of his life Sharon Miotke.  They began their lives together in Missoula where Dave began his plumber’s apprenticeship and Sharon finished her nursing degree.  They married on April 29, 1967 and had three lovely daughters by 1973.  In 1978 Dave moved the family to Florence where Sharon continues to reside. 

Dave enjoyed farming, fishing, working outside in his yard, watching his grandchildren grow up and participate in all activities. In later years he liked to sit and admire his mountain view from his patio.  Dave retired from the University of Montana, December 31, 1999.  Two years later Sharon retired and then they traveled to Arizona in the winters and were able to spend time with cousins they hadn’t seen years. 

Dave is survived by his wife Sharon, and three daughters and their families. Melissa, Buck, Andrew & Allison Fullerton; Jennifer, Rod, Alisa (Mike & Kya), Wyatt & Halle Christopherson; Deb, John, Meaghan & Sean Nickelson; a brother, Bob, and sister Cheryl Serdar, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Services will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, January 28^th at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Chaplain Zara Renander will officiate.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Dave’s name to the Humane Society of Western Montana.

Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula.
