Denise Louise Scannell, age 73, of Clinton, passed away on January, 5, 2021 at St. Patrick's Hospital in Missoula.
She was born on July 11, 1947, in Missoula to Francis and Helen Scannell. She grew up in the Missoula and Clinton area and graduated from the University of Montana with a teaching degree.
She was a loving mother and grandmother to her only daughter and three granddaughters. She enjoyed knitting hats, and being an active part of her families lives being there for the birth of each of her grandchildren.
She loved the outdoors and all animals except for snakes. She loved her cats and thought of them as her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Maggie Scannell and JJ Loren; three granddaughters, Kaija, Kensley, and Caytin; and numerous cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Missoula City Cemetery with Father Tom Lankenau officiating under the care of Garden City Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to watch the service by clicking on the video below.
