Missoula – Diane Greger, 84, of Missoula passed away on Thursday, Oct 20, 2022 from cancer at her home surrounded by her family.
Diane was born on Feb 18, 1938 in North Tonawanda, NY to Benjamin and Elva Mueller. On July 5, 1958, she married Steve at St John’s Lutheran Church, followed by long time membership at St Paul’s Lutheran Church. Diane raised 3 children in North Tonawanda, NY and worked throughout her career at Kmart, Degraff Memorial Hospital, at-home care, locally in Montana at the Lolo Family Practice and most recently volunteering at St Patrick’s Hospital.
For years the family spent time at their permanent campsite at the Wiscoy Creek Campground, sharing a campsite with the Schaefer Family. In 1994, Diane and Steve moved to Florence, MT to enjoy family, fishing, hunting and the outdoor life – their favorite spot together was Flint Creek near Phillipsburg.
Survivors include her son Michael (Amy) of Supply, NC; son David (Beth) of Gallatin Gateway; son Thomas (Patricia) of Fort Myers, FL; six grandchildren, Adam, Nancy, Cameron, Sydnie (Jacob), Brandon and Jack; brother Brent and sister Candace (Roger).
Diane was preceded in death by her husband Steve, her parents, her son Timothy, and her sister Brenda.
The family would like to thank Dr. Scott and staff for their support and medical care, and the nurses at Partners In Home Hospice of Missoula.
Diane will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great friend to the many lives she touched. She loved her church family, especially the Bell Choir, birds, flowers, and Sports (Buffalo Bills, Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, and Montana Tech Basketball).
The family suggests memorials, in lieu of flowers, to the First Lutheran Church (Missoula) Bell Choir, the First Lutheran Church (Missoula) Classical School, or Partners In Home Care Hospice of Missoula.
A memorial service will be held at 1PM Sunday, Oct 23, at First Lutheran Church, Missoula, with the Rev. David Johnson. A committal service will be held at a later date.
