Obituary

Duane Lefebvre, 96, of Missoula passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026 at The BeeHive of Missoula. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Missoula City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home.

Duane Maurice Lefebvre, son of Joseph and Melvina (Collette) Lefebvre, was born September 20, 1929 in Elk River, Minnesota. He obtained his high school diploma from St. John’s Preparatory School in Collegeville, Minnesota. He continued his education at St. John’s until his Sophomore year when he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950. Duane was stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1953. He met the love of his life, Faye Sticht, in 1957 at the Old St. Mary’s Center in San Fransico and the couple was united in marriage later that year on September 14th. Blessed with three children, they purchased a home in Walnut Creek, California in 1963 and lived there for most of their adult lives. Duane worked the majority of his career in banking and worked his way to Vice President of Securities.

Duane was a proud Catholic and was a member of the Knights of Columbus serving in many roles including treasurer. He was also a member of the Lion’s Club, Rossmoor walking club, a tennis and table tennis club. Duane was an avid volunteer helping in three different hospitals and Meals on Wheels. He was a lifelong blood donor with the Red Cross. He enjoyed hiking, square dancing and playing cards in his free time. Duane and Faye traveled all across the United States and four continents. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Paula (Paul) Wimberly; son, David (Cyndie) Lefebvre; three grandchildren, Beth, Kevin, and Maggie; two great grandchildren, Sylis and Lillian; cousin, Audrey Cady; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Melvina; wife, Faye Lefebvre; son, Micheal Lefebvre; sisters, Agnus, Marion, Lillian, and Joan; brothers, Al, Donny, Bill and Kenny.
