September 9, 1939 — September 14, 2022

Edward Adolph Dinges passed away on September 14, 2022 in Missoula, Montana surrounded by family. He was born on September 9, 1939 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Adolph and Martha Smith Dinges He entered the military (Air Force and Navy) in 1957 after high school and served his country until 1983. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam (1967-69), earning two purple hearts and the silver medal. On June 30, 1961, Ed married Margaret Johnston. They celebrated 61 years of marriage this year. From that marriage was born two boys, David and Walter Dinges.

Through that skill, he made many long-lasting friendships with other Missoula carvers.
