Frederic Frank Beyer

Frederic (Fred, Rick) Beyer 73 of Milltown, Montana passed away unexpectedly at home on March 22, 2026. He was born in Tigerton, Wisconsin on October 29, 1952, to Herbert F and Ida A Beyer. After his father died, his mother remarried and at the age of 5, the family moved to a ranch in Conner, Montana. Fred grew up milking cows, haying, and riding horses. He attended school in Darby from kindergarten to 4th grade. The family moved to East Missoula where he attended 5th grade at Central Grade School in Missoula. The family then moved to West Riverside where he attended 6th-8th grade at Bonner school. In the fall of 1967, he attended Sentinel High School where he participated in football and wrestling. After graduating he went to the Missoula Vo-Tech and was certified in welding. He married his high school sweetheart, Lynda Skinner in 1972 and they had 53 years together before his death.

Fred worked at the Anaconda Company mill in Bonner from 1969-1972 when the mill changed ownership. He then went into house construction and installing aluminum siding. He returned to the Bonner mill where he worked from 1974 until the closure in 2008. He then went to Pyramid Lumber from 2008 until retiring in 2014. Fred enjoyed hunting, back packing and spending time in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. In his life he helped many friends and coworkers when they needed him.

Fred is survived by his wife Lynda, son, Michael, daughter, Michelle Kyle; sister, Linda Beyer, sister, Christine Davison and three stepbrothers, Ken (Carla) Wildung, Tim (Ann Marie) Wildung, and Mark (Claudia) Wildung. He is also survived by two grandchildren Joseph Kyle and Dillon Beyer, plus several nieces and nephews and a good family friend, Eddie (Laura) Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, his mother and stepfather, Lea Wildung.

A celebration of life will be held on April 11th, 2026, from 1-3 pm at the Hellgate Rifle Club, 7350 Zaugg Drive, Missoula, MT. A main dish and beverages will be provided for a light lunch. Please bring a side dish if you are able plus your stories, pictures and memories to share.
