Gabriel Collin Stevens was born November 4th, 2003 in Missoula, Montana and joined our Lord on August 20th, 2025. Gabe will be remembered by those who knew him for his inquisitive, smart, and curious nature. His gentleness and kindness came second only to his witty sense of humor and loving charm.
This life's adventures took Gabe from one side of the country to the other. He was a generous, empathetic and thoughtful child. During his childhood, he lived in Lolo, Missoula, Ely, NV, and Havre. But home was always the Bitterroot Valley for Gabe. Gabe attended Sentinel and Havre High Schools and graduated from Havre High School. In school, he participated in every type of band; starting with playing the saxophone, and later teaching himself the flute, guitar, ukulele and other instruments. His passion for music was a cornerstone of his personality.
After high school, he enlisted in the Navy as a nuclear electrician's mate and was stationed in both Charleston, South Carolina and Newport, Rhode Island. While in Newport, Gabe won the Blue Jacket of the Quarter award. The Bluejacket of the Quarter recognition program acknowledges outstanding performance and dedication by honoring a sailor who consistently embodies the Navy's core values of honor, courage, and commitment through their exemplary execution of duties. Selection involves a selection board and is a significant honor that highlights hard work and achievement. Before his discharge, he was nominated to compete for the Blue Jacket of the Year award, but was unable to due to his discharge. Gabe was immensely proud of his service with the military and formed bonds with his comrades which were beyond comparison.
After leaving the military, Gabe returned home to Florence where he lived until his passing. He pursued a certification in emergency medical care and joined Missoula Emergency Services Inc. as an EMT. Gabe was the ultimate professional. He took great pride in his work and helping others. He was always compassionate and kind, serving others and placing them before himself.
Gabriel is survived by his parents, Jesse Stevens and Jamie Hower, stepfather Erick Bedwell, siblings Preston (Caitlyn) Stevens, Dylin Biebinger, Koryn Bedwell, Charlie Vines, and Tyler Bedwell.
