Missoula

Gayle Stacken, 67, of Missoula passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025 at St. Patrick Hospital. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date and interment will be in the Missoula City Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at gardencityfh.com.

Gayle Marie Stacken, daughter of Lyle and Dorothy (Burwald) Babcock, was born August 1, 1957 in Miles City, Montana. They moved to Missoula and she graduated from Sentinel High School in 1975. She worked as a waitress for many years before she met the love of her life, Dwain Stacken. The couple was united in marriage on March 7, 1998 in Missoula. Gayle obtained her CDL and joined Dwain on the road and they were a trucking team. Gayle was the glue of their business; keeping their books and logistics in order.

Gayle had a passion/obsession for knitting, cross stitching, crocheting, needle point, and seam stressing. She was beyond talented and loved giving her final products to family and friends. Gayle and Dwain enjoyed camping and traveling the country together. Through all the adventures and trips, their beloved dogs were by their side. Their business, Brits Trucking, was named after one of their fur-babies, Brittany. Gayle cherished the time she was able to spend with the ones she loved. Above all else, she was a devoted wife, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend who will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dwain Stacken; nephew, Steve Johnson; great-niece, Rebecca Johnson; sister, Ellen Borgeau; brother, Kelly (Susan) Babcock; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Dorothy Babock; sister, Barbara (Alfred) Johnson; and brother-in-law, Ron Borgeau.
