Helen was born to LaVrna Brown and William Day in Helena, Montana. As a toddler, Helen's family moved to Bremerton, WA. Her father worked in the naval shipyards. After the war the family returned to Montana where Helen enjoyed a happy childhood with 3 sisters and 52 cousins.
In High School, Helen was an honored queen of Job's Daughters. She played on her father's softball team, The Plasterers. In 2015, all the team players were inducted into the Montana State Hall of Fame.
Helen graduated from High School in 1957 and worked as a secretary. She married Donald D. Reynolds of Laurel, Montana on December 5, 1959. Together, they had five children and a 60+ year marriage. Helen loved taking care of her husband, home and family.
Helen loved to take long drives to see the back country of Montana. Another favorite pastime was cooking! With over 66 cookbooks, Helen enjoyed sharing her recipe creations with family and friends.
In 1970, Helen and Don joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The gospel became a very important part of their life, and together they served two missions for the church.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don, her daughter Stephanie, and her sister Ramona. She is survived by two sisters, Rowena (92), and Fredela (88) both of Helena, Montana, her sons Bob of Rexburg, ID, Dan (Marla) of West Richland, WA, and her daughters Debbie Workman (John) of Provo, UT and Kim Hofhiens (Steve) of Post Falls, ID.
Helen, or Gigi-Ma as her 21 grandchildren and 31+ great-grandchildren called her, was very proud of her wonderful large, and busy family. We will celebrate Helen at a graveside service at 1 pm on Saturday, July 19, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula. All friends and family are welcome.
