James Hill

January 4, 1936 — January 14, 2026

It is with great sadness that we share the news of our dad Jim's passing on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.

Born January 4, 1936 to Uuno I. and Goldie I. (Robinson) Hill in Missoula, MT. He grew up in the Bonner area, and graduated from the old Missoula County High School, what is now Hellgate High. He went to college for two years while our Mom Edna Nagle finished high school. He took history, he would have been a great teacher.

Dad and Mom were married on August 24, 1955. They got married at the courthouse after Dad finished his shift at the mill in Bonner, it was a Wednesday, they had been married for 65 years before our Mother's passing on December 1, 2020, no she didn't die from Covid. Dad spoke everyday about missing her. He said it was the worst day of his life. Dad and Mom had two children, Linda in 1956 and Greg in 1960. Dad was proud of us both.

He was a business rep. for the locals 3038, 2685, and 2812 in Bonner and Missoula. He loved to talk and this job was right up his alley. One of his favorite things to do besides work was golf. He did get a hole in one at the University Golf Course. He also loved the Yankees, the Griz, and the great outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid coin collector.

He was preceded in death by his parents, our Mom Edna, and a niece. He is survived by his daughter Linda (Mike), his son Greg (Marilyn); grandchildren, Teresa (Tony), Brian (Anna), Christopher (Coreena), Taylor (Brooke), Talley (Todd), and Chasity; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Devin, James, Addison, Rylee, Skylar, Mack, and Kaci; brother Larry (Juanita), many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews.

There will be no formal funeral service. We will be having a family gathering at a later date to celebrate Jim and Edna's lives.

Special Thank You to the Hospice team: Amy; nurses Susan and Logan for their special care of Dad.
