November 3, 1948 — March 26, 2026

Missoula

James Sadler Lowry (Jim) passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26th, 2026 surrounded by the love of family. He was 77 years old. Jim came by his love of barbeque and rock-and-roll music honestly as he was born on November, 3rd 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee. His parents Jean and Carson Barham anchored his youth in Nashville where he made lifelong friends. Jim was known for his outspoken sense of humor, love of wire-haired terriers, and encyclopedic knowledge of classic science fiction and horror movies. A loyal family man and fiery redhead, he served his country as a radio operator in the Navy and made sure trucks were up and running in his 26-year career at UPS.

Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years Debbie Lowry, his daughter Jessica Lowry Vizzutti (husband Lido and their children Lido IV and Vivienne) of Missoula, Montana and Aunt Nancy Starrit and daughter Judy Starrit of Richmond, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his mother Jean and his father Carson.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 7th at 10:30 A.M. at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, raise a glass of unsweet tea or Crown Royal with ginger ale while you share a funny story with a friend. He would have loved that.
