Janet Elizabeth Elliott, 86, of Evaro, passed away August 20, 2026 in Missoula at Beehive Homes.

She was born on March 3, 1940 to Viola and Michael Homan in St.Leo, Minnesota. The family moved to Clear Lake, SD where Janet graduated from Deuel County High School in 1958. High School was where Janet met her husband, Dennis Elliott. They were married on March 30, 1961 in Clear Lake after Dennis graduated from Air Force Basic Training.

Janet moved around with Dennis from Florida to England until his discharge in August 1966. Janet lived and worked in Wahpeton, ND until May 1968 when Dennis graduated from college. It was in Wahpeton that they welcomed their son Richard. The family lived briefly in Washington before settling in Missoula in 1972. In December of 1974 they welcomed their daughter Denise.

Janet spent most of her years as a homemaker. She could often be found tending a large garden and her flowers. Sometimes Dennis talked her into some camping and fishing adventures. She enjoyed playing cards and doing puzzles, and in her later years she enjoyed coloring, watching movies, and visits with her grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Dennis, her parents, Viola and Michael, and her brothers, Donald and Robert.

Janet is survived by her sisters: Joyce (Larry) Bendt, Rita (Dan) Ashbaugh, Leona Lindner; brothers: Gene (Marge) Homan, John Homan; sisters-in-law: Judith Homan and Lorna Elliott; brother-in-law: Dave (Bodae) Elliott; son: Richard (Natalie), children (Hailey, Olivia, Andrew) of Boise, ID; daughter: Denise (Patrick), children (Randa, Kandra, Kallie, Michael) of Missoula; as well as four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held this Fall.
