Janet Furrer (Petroff)
September 4th, 1936- April 15th, 2023
Janet Furrer (Petroff), beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, of Missoula, Montana, peacefully passed away from natural causes April 15th, 2023, at home surrounded by family.
Janet was born on September 4th, 1936, to Tudor and Louise Petroff, at home in Bonner, Montana. Janet attended Bonner Elementary School along with her 11 siblings. Having that many siblings, life was never boring. Janet loved trying to keep up with her older brothers, even if that included going swimming in the quick river by the Mill in Bonner.
In her teenage years while visiting Spokane, Washington, Janet met the love of her life, Ronald Furrer, who was in the Air Force stationed in Spokane. After a whirlwind romance, they married just two weeks later, on Leap Day, February 29th, 1952. It was not until Janet was in her 30s that she went back to school and obtained her GED and attended Missoula Tech to get a certificate in bookkeeping so she could manage the office at Economy Body Specialists with Big Ron. Janet loved being a mother, and was blessed to have 6 children; Pamela, Ronald, Lynn, Debra, Charles, and Tamie.
When Janet wasn’t busy raising her children, she could be found working alongside Ron at their business, Economy Body Specialists. After Janet retired, she still made sure that she was up to date with what was occurring at the business, often adding her own input.
Janet enjoyed spending time at Lake Inez, which always included cooking up some crawdads for the grandkids. Janet was the best mother and grandmother that one could ask for. From her birthday cards, to her QVC shopping year around for Christmas gifts, her family was always on her mind and first in her heart. Janet never let anyone leave her house without making sure they were buckled up, often waiting in her window to watch you put on your seatbelt. Once she saw the seatbelt “click” she would wave and you knew then that you were okay to leave. She was always watching to make sure that those she loved were safe. If you were ever a house guest at Janet’s, then she taught you how to play Rummikub and she most likely beat you every time. We will forever miss her quick wit, laughter, and big hugs.
Janet is reunited in Heaven with the love of her life, Ronald, three of her children; Pamela, Tamie, and Charles, her siblings; Della, Jim, Irene, Dick, Ted, Hank, Ruby, and Johnny; and her parents; Louise and Tudor. Janet leaves behind her son Ronald Furrer, daughters Lynn (Laura Bevins) Pasqualetti, and Debra (Debbie) Shepard daughter-in-law, Jody Furrer; grandchildren Perry, Matthew, April, Kella, Robin (Bobbi), Veronica, Janna, Nathan (Nate), Jason, Jaylene, Mercedes, Tascha, Daniel, Marrio, and Sharona. Along with numerous great grandchildren, cousins, and her siblings Tom (Lisa) Petroff, Mary (Dave) Kallis, and Nina Seamen.
We will miss you forever and a day. Until we meet again.
Arrangements have been made for a private graveside service with immediate family, July 21, 2023.
