Jean Marie Dixon, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, with her husband, Jim, and her son, Dusty, by her side. She joins her daughter Jenna, her brother John, and her parents Bill and Marion in her Maker's presence.

Those who knew Jean will remember her ease of laughter. She was always quick with a joke or a story to make others smile. Jean shared her unique sense of humor around every dinner table, coffee table, or poker table she sat at.

Jean's daily life showed her passion for animals. As a girl growing up in Michigan, Jean adored her pets. She was active in obedience training, certified her dogs to visit children and hospitals, and supported local 4-H clubs with her knowledge. Jean spent many years as a veterinary technician where she could put her love of all animals to work.

As a young woman, Jean left her first home in Michigan and headed west. She arrived at the mountains of western Montana and knew she'd found what she was looking for. It was in Montana that Jean met her husband Jim, raised her children Dusty and Jenna, and made countless close friends.

Jean found a home for her faith in the Lutheran Church. She attended Sunday services regularly, led Sunday School classes for the children in her congregation, and proudly raised her children in the faith, love, and generosity of the church.

Most notable about Jean was her deep love for friends and family. She loved nothing more than spending quality time with her husband, children, grandchildren, families in Michigan and Idaho, and friends. Jean will be missed and fondly remembered by so many whose lives she touched.
