It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of John Michael Porras, who left this world on May 8, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on August 8, 1943, in Santa Monica, CA, John lived a life rich in love, service, and joy, ultimately making his home in Alberton, MT.

John proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1966, embodying the valor and dedication that defined his character. In 1967, he married the love of his life, Angela, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of 58 years filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support. Together, they raised three sons: Daniel, Drew, and Chris, who carry on his legacy of kindness and strength.

As a founding member of the Echo 2/5 Association, John maintained deep connections with fellow veterans and cherished the bonds of friendship forged throughout his life. He was a loving and supportive father, brother, grandfather, and friend.

John enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, whether it was dancing at gatherings, reveling in spirited football games, or losing himself in a good book. He lived life to the fullest, always eager to lend a hand to family and friends in need, embodying loyalty and generosity.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Porras and Caroline Segura, as well as three sisters and two brothers. John leaves behind his beloved wife, Angela; his sons, Daniel, Drew, and Chris; grandchildren Danielle, Alyssa, Max, Elijah, Anya, and Evan; and a legacy of love remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A funeral mass will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Holy Cross Cemetery and Mortuary in Culver City, California.

Pallbearers will include Joe Porras, Joe Haro, Max Porras, Victor Rodriguez and Al Guerrero.
