Josephine Pearl Foust

Josephine Pearl Foust, 79, of Missoula, Montana, passed away on March 25, 2024, at Village Health and Rehabilitation. 

Pearl was born on July 31, 1944, in St. Ignatius, Montana to Walt and Charlottie (Messler) Johnston. She grew up and went to school in Arlee, Montana and graduated from Arlee High School with the class of 1962. After high school, Pearl attended Cosmetology School in Missoula and later worked part time as a hairdresser. She was married to Ted Foust on December 1, 1963, in Idaho Falls, ID, and they made their home in Arlee where Pearl was a devoted wife and mother to 6 beautiful children. Ted and Pearl would have celebrated their 60th Anniversary this year.

Pearl loved gardening and canning the fruits of her labor. She also enjoyed raising and riding horses in her younger years. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints. A sweet and loving mother and wife, her passion was her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Ted Foust of Missoula; four daughters, Amy Lefler and her husband Doug of Arlee, Montana, Mary Foust of Missoula and her husband Warren Newcombe of Cornwall, England, Char McCready and her husband Merle of Malta, Montana, and Holly Wylie and her husband Bryce of Rigby, Idaho; two sons, Wayne Foust and his wife Char of Wasilla, Alaska and John Foust and his wife Jill of Tioga, North Dakota; 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter Makenzy Foust and one brother Larry Harness.
