Obituary for June Delores Walling (Huff)

June Delores Huff Walling of Lolo, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at St. Patrick Hospital following a brief illness. She passed peacefully surrounded by her daughters.
She was born June 23, 1933, in Moore, to George W. and Bertha A. (Kessler) Huff. The youngest of four children, she grew up in Moore. She was involved in all school activities including basketball, cheerleading, band, choir, and clubs. She graduated from Moore High School in 1951.
On June 10, 1951, she married James O. Walling and they began their lifelong journey together. At Jim’s passing in April of this year they had been married 64 years. They had five children and lived in Lewistown until 1962, finally settling in Lolo.

She dedicated her life to her family. While raising her children, she volunteered in the school as a room mom, helping with bake sales, and school programs. She was an active member of the Lolo Community Church for over 50 years and she always made sure her children attended Sunday School. She taught Sunday School and added her rich alto voice to the choir for many years. In recent years she greatly enjoyed her Bible study groups and the dear friendships formed.
She worked many years at Missoula Textiles as a presser. She was as actively involved in youth baseball as her husband and she assisted him for over 40 years as they worked with the Babe Ruth Organization.
She enjoyed many hobbies and crafts. She was a beautiful seamstress and made many Barbie doll wardrobes over the years. She was an avid reader and she loved her plants, having a gift for making things grow.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother George Huff; sister Geneva Kuchynka, and husband Jim.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Mike) Free of Lolo, Dan (Tina) Walling of Corvallis, Sharon (Pete) Andersen of Lewistown, Peggy (Earl) Monaco of Elliston, and Christina Fields of Lolo; brother Tom (Georgia) Huff of Billings; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
