Keith Koprivica

September 6, 1960 — October 10, 2025

Missoula

Keith James Koprivica, 65, of Missoula, Montana, passed away on October 10, 2025.

Keith was born on September 6, 1960, in Butte, Montana, to Alex and LaVerne Koprivica. He grew up in Butte and was deeply proud of his Butte heritage – always willing to share a childhood story or a memory of time spent at the service station owned by his father in uptown Butte. Keith graduated from Butte High School with the Class of 1978 before moving to Missoula to attend the University of Montana, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism.

Keith built a successful career in radio, media sales, and advertising, known for his professionalism, integrity, and genuine ability to connect with people. His advertisements helped guide a generation on what kind of truck NOT to buy – “Don’t you buy no wimpy truck!”. His kindness, humor, and steady guidance left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Keith shared a special and enduring love with his wife, Deb Koprivica. Long before they married, Keith and Deb attended prom together at Butte High. Life eventually brought them back together, and they were married 17 years ago—a rekindled love that became Keith’s greatest joy. Together, Keith and Deb built a loving home in Missoula where they enjoyed hosting their friends and family, spending hours around the dinner table or on the back patio, with laughter and love filling the space.

Keith loved spending time outdoors in his younger years—hunting, golfing, and enjoying Montana’s natural beauty. He had a passion for music—serving as booking agent for the Bop-A-Dips for many years. His keen eye for vintage instruments always kept him on the lookout for something unique. A strong belief in community service led him to roles with the Museum of Mountain Flying, Crimestoppers, and serving as a reserve deputy with the Missoula County Sheriff's Office.

Keith rarely asked for help from his friends and family but was always first to lend a hand to others when it was needed. Keith will be remembered for his generosity, wisdom, and the unwavering love he gave to those around him. Seeing those he loved experience happiness and success brought him immense pride and joy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deb Koprivica; brothers Gary Koprivica and Skip (Sue) Koprivica; niece Kori Koprivica; Brent (Shawna) Richards and their children Spencer and Emma Richards; Kyle (McKinzie) Richards; and many other cherished family members and friends, too many in count to name. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and LaVerne Koprivica, father-in-law Albert Squires, mother-in-law Shirley Squires, brother-in-law Bill Squires, and grandson Blake Richards.

In the words of Alex Koprivica, without a strong family you are like a tree in a large forest. All who had the privilege of knowing Keith can attest to the strength he brought to his family and friends. That strength will carry on through the love and happiness he shared with all of us.
