Kelly Lloyd passed away unexpectedly on February 7, 2026 at the age of 71. He was born in Missoula MT on May 21, 1954 to parents Ted and Lavonne (Ham) Lloyd, the second of four boys.

The family moved to Havre MT on April Fool’s Day of 1960. Kelly attended Havre schools and graduated from Havre High in 1972. He grew up playing baseball and competing on the High School wrestling team, along with jobs like picking rock, bucking bales and working summers at Hill County’s Beaver Creek Park. But his all-time favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing, pastimes he happily shared over the years with his father, brothers, son, grandsons and friends.

After graduation, Kelly began his 37-year career on the railroad, while also attending the University of Montana whenever time and money allowed. He started as a railroad agent with Union Pacific and with Burlington Northern Railroad. Eventually becoming an engineer, he retired from Montana Rail Link in 2016.

Kelly very much enjoyed raising his son Cameron and teaching him all about the hunting and fishing he loved so much throughout the state of Montana. Though retirement was too short, he enjoyed caring for his grandsons Parker and Danner whenever he could and attending all their sports events as their biggest fan.

Kelly is sorely missed by his family and friends but will always be remembered for his calm demeanor and for always being there for anyone who ever needed his help in any way.

Kelly was preceded in death by his younger brother Tim, his mother Lavonne and father Ted. He is survived by his older brother Don, his youngest brother Rick, his son Cameron and grandsons Parker and Danner.

Family and friends are gathering Saturday, March 7th noon to four at The Ranch Club, to celebrate the life of this wonderful man. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to a charity of your choosing in Kelly’s honor.
