Kent Woolington

Kent F. Woolington, born October 29, 1948, left us on Thursday, May 15, 2025 in Missoula Montana. He was surrounded by family and loved ones.

Who was Kent Woolington? He was an Eagle Scout, Soldier, Woodsman, Logger, Truckdriver, Welder, Carpenter, Electrician, Mechanic, Cook, the list can go on and on. It was a universal fact that everyone who knew our Dad had their own list of his many attributes to describe him. A man that would stop at nothing to help someone, who had the eye to see problems before anyone else could see them, and the courage to tackle any problem even if he didn’t know anything about the problem at hand. He was able to design and make just about anything out of any material from wood to steel, and to fix just about everything from cars to microwaves. He was a great mentor who shared all the knowledge he had obtained during his life. The true definition of a Renaissance Man.

But of all his talents, skills, and achievements, the two elements of our Dad that we will always be the proudest of was first, his total dedication to our Mom, his loving wife that was his world, his northern star, whom he married on June 29, 1969. He full heartedly adored and cherished her with all of his soul. Their love got them through many hard times and was the example to us all that we can make it when times are rough and still love one another. Next, his consistent devotion and grace with his children was unlimited. He gave us patience when we didn't deserve it, advice when we needed it, and always a gentle guiding hand to keep us on the path when we were hell bent to jump off it. Always the concerned father on the inside and a steadfast man on the outside, our modern-day hero. We knew that we could always rely on him for anything, and he was our lighthouse in the storm of life.

In these last written words that we can share, the very best part of Kent Woolington... He was our Dad. Love you Dad.

A burial service with military honors will take place at 1:30pm on Friday, May 23, 2025 at the Western Montana State Veteran's Cemetery.
