Kyle Sharbono

July 16, 2002 — May 3, 2025

Missoula

Kyle Sharbono was born on July 16, 2002, to Roger and Sally Sharbono. From the very beginning, he brought immense joy and light into their lives, reflecting the deep love and happiness with which he was surrounded. He could not have been blessed with a more loving and devoted family.

Kyle adored his parents—they were his whole world. His mother’s love was unwavering and deeply nurturing, and to her, Kyle was everything. He cherished spending time with his dad in the shop, proudly using his own set of tools and toolbox. From a young age, he loved tinkering and could name every tool with ease. He also had an impressive knowledge of heavy construction equipment, naming each one with excitement and accuracy.

He always looked forward to going out for Sunday drives, into the woods, with his Dad and his Uncle Ron. He so loved the outdoors, no matter how he could get it. The family is big on camping and the biggest event of the year is always Memorial Day weekend. Kyle loved the big camp out, riding in the side by side, hanging out at the campground surrounded by numerous cousins and friends.

When Kyle was confined to a wheel chair, at age 10, in 2012, due to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, it was a big change in life. But it was a fact of life for Kyle and he never considered himself as having a disability. Kyle never stopped shining. His smile could light up a room, and his joy at seeing you or discovering something new remained as strong as ever. He also never stopped doing any of the things already important to him. Kyle was surrounded by his close-knit, loving family who saw to it Kyle was enjoying life to the fullest. He was truly an overcomer.

Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation Kyle was granted a trip to DisneyWorld in Florida! What a trip! He had access to all the ice cream he could eat, all day long!! One of his favorite things was the Jungle Cruise and the Gator airboat ride!

Shortly after Kyle returned home a convoy of firetrucks lined his driveway! Kyle loved firetrucks and it was his wish to ride in one! Wish granted. His eyes just popped to see them arriving! He rode from home to Frenchtown Pond. All this a part of Make-A-Wish and the MDA.

Kyle is reuniting with family that passed before him; Brother Roger Sharbono, Sister Roxanne Sharbono, his loving grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Brown, Uncle Billy Brown, Aunt Violet Sharbono and Aunt Barb Medley and cousin Ronnie Sharbono-Cathey.

Kyle treasured his parents and is survived by his sister, Debra Baker, and held close relationships with his uncles, Ron Sharbono and Bobby Brown, as well as his aunts, Doris Newhoff, Belvah Hagen (Martin), Sue Brown, and JeraleeSnelgrove. His cousins were an important part of his life, especially Becky Sharbono and Holly Hunter (Jeremy) and their family, and with whom he shared many meaningful moments. He held a special place in his heart for his beloved Ninny, Misty Jorgensen, and she for him. Throughout his life, she was important to him—steadfast, loving, and deeply cherished. Their bond was extraordinary.

A special thank you to all of Kyle’s teachers and aides who supported him through his life, and to the dedicated ICU nurses and respiratory therapists at Community Hospital for their compassionate care. Your kindness and support meant the world to Kyle and his family.
