Marifrances Courtney

Marifrances Flynn Courtney, 86, of Missoula, passed away on April 14, 2026, of natural causes.

She was born on February 7, 1940, in Missoula, Montana, to Elmer and Mary Flynn. She was raised in Missoula and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. She continued her education at Montana State College and later attended Montana State University.

On April 28, 1962, she married Edward Kernaghan Courtney. Together, they built a life rooted in Missoula, surrounded by family and community. Marie was deeply devoted to her family and was deeply loved by all who knew her.

Marie is remembered for her steady presence, her deep ties to her hometown, and the love she shared with those closest to her.

She is survived by her husband, Ed Courtney, and her daughter, Kim Flynn Courtney.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mary Flynn.

Services will be announced at a later date. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. Labre Indian School
