Marifrances Courtney

Marifrances Flynn Courtney, 86, of Missoula, passed away April 14, 2026.

She was born the first of two daughters of G. Elmer Flynn and Mary Ahern Flynn in Missoula. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and attended both Montana State and the University of Montana.

She married Edward Kernaghan Courtney on April 28, 1962, a bond that held strong for nearly sixty-four years.

She had an eye for beauty and grace. It was obvious in her homes, gardens, and those closest to her.

She is survived by her loving husband Edward, daughter Allison (Robert Cales), sister and brother-in-law Colleen and Gary McKinley, niece Maura McKinley Tull (Philip), their children and many Flynn and Ahern cousins near and far.

A small graveside prayer will be offered at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Old Saint Mary’s Cemetery.

The family suggests donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Saint Labré Indian School.
