Marilyn Rose Ducharme, age 82, passed away peacefully at home in Arlee, Montana, on August 13, 2025.
Marilyn was born on March 31, 1943, in Great Falls, Montana. Growing up as one of 13 children, Marilyn learned early the value of family and hard work.
Marilyn devoted her life to caring for others—both through her work and her love for her family. She worked as a cook for 23 years at Joe’s Smoke Ring as well as a daycare provider, always finding joy in nurturing and feeding those around her. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she delighted in preparing meals and treats that brought family together and created lasting memories. Not a holiday passed without Marilyn showing up with a basket full of goodies.
On August 28, 1976, Marilyn married her partner for life, Herb Ducharme. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and compassion. Her marriage to Herb was a source of strength and joy for 49 years; the two were inseparable, sharing life’s everyday moments side by side.
Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband, Herb, and her sons Rick, Steve, and Greg. She is also survived by her sister Sherry Pierson and her brother Jerry Tenney, and will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and extended family She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Daniele.
A service to honor Marilyn’s life will be held at Garden City Funeral Home on August 26th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Jude or Shriners Hospital.
