Mark Elliott Blair

August 6, 1956 — July 2, 2022

Mark Elliott Blair was born August 6, 1956 to Glenn and Mary (Soiland) Blair in Longmont, CO. Glenn ran a drilling rig for an oil exploration company, meaning the family constantly moved around the country. This meant often being the new kid in school and the trailer park, but Mark and his older brother Ross knew they could always rely on each other. Always moving to a new place also taught him to be personable and outgoing, a skill that earned him many friends throughout his life. The family settled down in Lewistown, MT for his high school years where he met the love of his life Sandra (Jenni) Blair. Shortly after high school they married and moved to Missoula, MT to start their life. Although they divorced many years later, they remained close friends.

Mark had a passion for business and wanted to work for himself. He became a custom home builder for many years under the name M. Blair Construction. Eventually, his love of heavy equipment moved him to shift fields and start Blair Excavating. After many more years of moving dirt, he purchased Time Rental inc. which he turned into a successful business before selling in 2019.

Many people have happy memories of Mark during fishing trips, camping trips, motorcycle rides, boating up at Flathead, sky diving, scuba diving, golfing, and more. Mark was always looking forward to the next experience.

Mark passed on July 2nd, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his twin children Casey and Corri Blair, his brother Ross (and sister-in-law Carol) Blair, nephew Matt Blair, and many cousins including Terry Blair.

There will be a celebration of life at the Missoula Country Club on his birthday, August 6th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society.
