Mark A
Woodgerd
September 26, 1956 – February 14, 2026
Mark Alan Woodgerd, 69, of Stevensville MT, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026 of rheumatoid lung disease. He is survived by his beloved wife Gina, of 38 years, children Kyle, Jeanette, Nate, Dan, Nicole. Grandchildren Toby, Jessamyn, Ryland, Gaige, Nina, Sadie, and Ember. Brothers Dave and Tom, and his cousins Gary, Randy, and Darrell.
He was born in Miles City, Montana on September 26, 1956 to Wesley and Jo Ann Woodgerd. The family moved to many cities in Montana, including Glasgow, Missoula, and Helena. He graduated from Helena High school in 1974, and graduated from the University of Montana in 1980 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Go Griz! He was an avid Griz fan. After college, Mark started his career with Carnation Company and moved on to several food brokers, Anheuser Busch, and Albertsons. He continued his Albertsons career in Space Management, placement of items in grocery stores, taking him from Spokane WA, to Vancouver WA, and Boise ID. He returned to Montana and retired in 2023.
It was his dream to return to Montana, his home state, that he dearly loved. On the family property in the Bitterroot Valley, he and Gina built their dream home, to accommodate all of the family. These family gatherings/parties are like no other - Gina was the party planner, and Mark was the party starter. If you love a good story, having some great belly laughs, listening to very, very loud music, playing cribbage, hot tubbin’, horseshoes, driving around the property in his prized Jeep, and seeing him “think” he could sing karaoke, this was the place for you! There are many fun and amazing memories in this home that we will hold dear to our hearts. Our family will continue with these gatherings, as Mark would want us all to live life with passion, have a great time, make some cool memories, and to be kindhearted to each other.
Mark loved to hunt, fish, float the Bitterroot River, grow hops and make his own beer, go to concerts (Willie Nelson outlived him!) garage sales, antique stores – he was always up for anything, and always made it entertaining. Before moving back to Montana, he bought his dream ride, an F350 Ford Platinum black truck, that he would tell you all about, however returning to Montana fulfilled his ultimate dream.
Mark was adamant about not having a “funeral”, after he was gone, “I don’t want coffee, Kleenex, or cryin’! Have a party, and celebrate me!”
That is exactly what we are going to do… It is Mark’s Party!
Please email woodgerdparty@gmail.com for details of this private event to be held on Sunday April 5th, 2026 to raise a glass, have a bite, share a story and your great memories. Yes, Kleenex will be provided!
Our family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude for the loving, compassionate care Mark received at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula, especially his nurse Heather.
