Obituary

Marshal David Muchmore, 84, passed away April 17, 2026. Marshall was born in Missoula, Montana on October 14, 1941. He grew up in Drummond, MT and graduated from Drummond High School. Marshall joined the United States Navy in 1959. Upon returning to Granite County, he married Irene Sanders in 1963.

Marshall is survived by his wife Irene of 62 years, his younger brother, Roger Muchmore (Lan); children, Natalie (Marcus), Dawna (Gary), and David. Five grandkids added enjoyment to Marshall’s life; Chanel, Jade, Siera, Bryson and Deklan. He also has five great grandkids, Ryder, Brynlee, Duke, Juliana and Elsie.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Arlene (Mickey); father, Charlie and older brother, Charlie.

Marshall spent time working at Bonner Lumber Mill, Black Pine Silver Mine as well as other local mines. He served as undersheriff and mayor of Grante County as well. Hiking the Pintler’s, hunting and doing carpentry work were activities he always enjoyed.

A Celebration of Life will be in Philipsburg, MT at a later date. In lieu of flowers, etc. donations may be directed to the Granite County Sheriff’s Office K9’s.
