Michael Hanson, 67, of Missoula passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, November 27, 2025. A memorial gathering will be announced at a later date.

Michael Thomas Hanson, son of Sibley and Shirley (Chapman) Hanson, was born June 21, 1958 in Wolf Point, Montana. He graduated from Beaverhead County High School in 1977. Michael ran and operated a landscaping business while living in Dillon and delivered the Dillon Newspaper on the side. After reconnecting with his family friend/ crush from his childhood, Michael was united in marriage with Christina McKinney on February 5, 2006 in Dillon. The couple later moved to Missoula, where he worked at Muralts and delivered the Missoulian. Michael last worked at the Food Zoo on campus before retiring.

He learned about Jehovah God and was studying with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Michael knew that he would be in Jehovah’s memory book and would be resurrected to a life on earth and be with his loved ones again in the new system.

Michael enjoyed bowling and wordsearches in his free time. He and Christina loved watching game shows and Matlock together. They were always together after the move to Missoula. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, stepfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Christina Hanson; stepchildren CarolLynn Roberts; Billy (Michelle) Roberts; Paulina (Kory) McKessick; five step-grandchildren; siblings, Fredric Hanson; David (Cheryl) Hanson; three nephews, a niece, extended family and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Sibley and Shirley Hanson; cousin, Kim Lingle.
