Mona Lou Moulton, age 88, of Missoula, MT, passed away on August 12, 2025. She was born in Osawatomie, Kansas on December 1, 1936, to Elmer (Dutch) and Bessie Stevenson.
The family moved to her beloved Bend, Oregon. It was in Bend that she met her husband of seventy years, Robert (Ted) Moulton. They married on October 23, 1954. Mona and Ted moved to Prineville, Oregon where they had their first child, Pam, one year later. They moved again, settling in Missoula, Montana. Two more children, Terry and Mark, followed soon after.
Mona loved arts and crafts, the music of Elvis Presley, and visiting Hawaii. But she found her greatest joy in bowling. A talented bowler, Mona was a recipient of the Missoula Women’s Bowler Hall of Fame Award. She also competed in several national bowling tournaments, collecting a lapel pin to commemorate each tournament. She displayed these pins proudly, eventually filling up four shadow boxes. Until she was eighty years old, Mona worked the shoe rental counter at Five Valleys Bowl.
Mona was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Dolores Bass; her brother, Albert Stevenson; and her cat, Tabitha. She is survived by her husband, Ted; her children, Pam Guschausky, Terry Milleson (Jim), and Mark Moulton (Linda); her grandchildren, Jeremy, Brianne, Andrew, and Shane; and great grandchildren, Jasmine, Jordyn, Tyler, Hennessy, and Harrison.
The family is planning a celebration of Mona’s life for a later date.
