Butte

Pam Nagel, age 68, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. Known for her radiant smile and kind-hearted nature, Pam was a devoted sister, a loyal friend, and a tireless advocate for cats.

Born in Chatsworth, California, Pam’s adventurous spirit led her to Butte, Montana, at the age of 19. It was there she built a vibrant life, working in diverse roles ranging from the local stockyards to various medical offices. In 2007, Pam moved to Bend, Oregon, to help care for her parents. While in Bend, she worked for a cats-only veterinary clinic and later, a medical practice call center.

Following the passing of her parents, Pam returned to her beloved Montana, settling in Missoula. Throughout her life, she rescued countless stray cats, eventually finding a constant companion in her beloved cat, Zoey. An avid crafter, Pam spent much of her time crocheting blankets and creating home decor. She was a woman of simple pleasures—finding joy in a good book, a new adventure with friends, and the cherished company of her friends and relatives.

Pam is survived by her two sisters, Sandra Nagel of San Diego, CA, and Erika Nagel of Laguna Hills, CA, as well as her beloved cat, Zoey. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Celebration of Life will be held in Butte, Montana, during the summer of 2026. Her family and friends will remember her most for the warmth she brought into every room.
