Pennie Lee Wise

August 24, 1948 — July 26, 2023

Drummond

Pennie Lee Wise of Drummond, Montana, passed away on July 26, 2023, in her home surrounded by family. She passed away of natural causes.

Pennie was born on August 24, 1948, to Walter and Charlotte Bryant in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She spent her childhood in Northern Idaho and Western Montana, before ending up in Utah. She had a talent for making friends wherever she went.

Pennie was married to William “Bill” Wise in 1970. They lived in Ogden, Utah, before moving to Drummond, Montana, in 1978. In Drummond, Pennie focused on building her house and her family.

A talented storyteller, Pennie enjoyed writing and telling stories about her life. Her stories ranged from crazy dates, childhood memories, and faith-filled adventures with her family. Her stories can still be enjoyed in her book, “Big Skies and Cowpies.”

Pennie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and spent her life sharing her testimony of Jesus Christ. Her favorite place to serve in her church was with the Primary and Young Women where she will be forever remembered for her antics.

Pennie, affectionately called Nana by her grandchildren, was a lively and sweet grandma with a knack for spoiling her grandkids and making the best dinner rolls.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Bill Wise; her children: Dustin (Carie) Wise, Nate (Becky) Wise, Tiffany (Eaf) Parke, and her stepson Chris (Barbara) Wise; as well as her siblings: Allen “Luckie” Bryant, Rodney Bryant, and Edie Tubbs. Her legacy is also extended by her thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her kindness, compassion, and loving humor will be remembered by all who knew her.

Memorial services will be held August 5th at the Drummond LDS Church, with a viewing at 10:00 A.M., and the funeral service following at 11:00. A graveside service will follow.
