Rose Marie Horton

Feb 17, 1954 — Sep 7, 2026

Rose Horton, 72, of Missoula, Montana, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026.

Rose was born on February 17, 1954, in Ogden, Utah, to the late Kenneth Startin Sr. and Roberta (Anne) Startin. For the first two years of her life, she lived in Goodland, Kansas, before moving to Missoula with her parents. She grew up in the area, graduated from Hellgate High School in 1973, and later married and welcomed her two beautiful daughters.

Rose was an avid reader and expressed her creative spirit through beautiful crochet work. Her kitchen was often filled with the comforting aroma of fresh baking—a gift she loved sharing with those around her. She also loved nothing more than settling in to watch wrestling with her brother, Kenneth Jr. Above all, Rose’s greatest devotion was to her family, whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally.

She is survived by her daughters, Crystal Storm and Madelyn Rodda (and her husband, Jeremy). She was the proud grandmother of Nicholas, Chastity, Liam, and Alice. Rose is also survived by her brothers, Kenneth Startin Jr. (and his wife, Laurel) and Dennis Startin (and his wife, Lynn), as well as her beloved nephews and plenty of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Startin Sr. and Roberta (Anne) Startin, her sister, Barbara, and her nephew, Darriel.

A celebration of Rose's life will be announced by the family at a later date.
