Sharon Jacobsen

August 15, 1943 — July 18, 2025

Sharon Ann Jacobsen, 81, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, at the Senior Renaissance Center in Deer Lodge, Mt, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

Sharon was born on August 15, 1943, in Whitehall, Montana, to Paul and Ethel Rinehart. She grew up with a strong since of Family, Faith and resilience --- values she carried with her throughout her life.

She graduated from Powell County High School in 1961 and went on to complete Cosmetology school in Missoula, Montana.

On March 30, 1963, she married the love of her life, Gary Jacobsen, in Deer Lodge. The couple were married for 62 years and made their home on the ranch in Ovando where they raised their 2 children. Sharon found joy in the community and the family they raised there.

Sharon dedicated herself to both family and her community. She served as the clerk for the Ovando School for 24 years and was a proud board member for the MEC for 30 years, as well as serving 11 years on the board of the NWPPA. She served many years on the Powell County Planning board. Her steady leadership and commitment to rural communities made a lasting impact

Above all, Sharon was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones. She especially loved watching her kids and then her grandchildren in all their sports, always cheering from the stands with pride and joy. She loved traveling and her fishing trips with her husband, whom she always said she out fished him every time. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her gentle heart, unweaving support and contagious smile.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Gary; her son Tim Jacobsen (Cindy); her daughter Sheila Manley (Tracy); grandchildren Brittney Hulett (Cody), Kalene Travis (Kenny), John Manley, Colby Manley, and Andrew Gomez; four great grandchildren and brother Ralph Rinehart

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ethel Rinehart; her brother Richard Rinehart; and her grandmother, Evelyn Simmons

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Ovando Gym, followed by a luncheon. The family warmly invites all who knew and loved Sharon to gather and share memories.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Renaissance Center and Honey Bee Hospice for their loving care during Sharon’s short stay.

This is not Goodbye---- it’s see ya later.
