Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shawn Tree, who left us far too soon at the age of 27 on March 04, 2026.

Shawn was born on July 29 ,1998 in the beautiful city of Bamberg Germany to Nadine and Chad. He moved with his family to Lawton Oklahoma in 2001 and returned to Giessen Germany in 2004. In 2006, he moved to Payton Colorado for a couple years before coming to Montana, his forever home, even though his heart was still in Germany.

He graduated from Florence Carlton High School in 2016. During his high school years, he enjoyed taking boxing lessons, playing the trumpet in the school band, and birding with Grandpa Wayne at the Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge. Starting at a young age, he had a passion for collecting Pokémon Cards along with a love for playing video games.

His first job was working at McDonalds in Lolo during high school. After high school he joined the workforce full-time, working in the Food and Cleaning Industries. He also loved photography and getting outdoors to fish, hike and bike with his friends and family. As a kid, Shawn liked playing with Hot Wheels leading to an interest in working on his own rig with help from friends. He was a daredevil and jumped out of an airplane once in Columbia Falls Montana back in 2020 with his buddies. He also really loved a good concert!

Though his life was far too short, Shawn left a lasting impression on the people who knew him. He will surely be remembered for his vibrant smile and colorful personality.

Shawn may have had his struggles in life, but above all he was a loving son, brother, and friend. He will forever remain in our hearts. He is preceded in death by his grandpa Wayne, Oma Hannelore, Uroma Eva and Uropa Rudolf. He is survived by his mother Nadine, father Chad, sister Alysha, Opa Rudolf, grandma Arla, along with his aunt Tanja (Charles) and uncle Marcel in Germany, aunt Arnica (Scott) in Montana and Uncle Brad (Christy) in Missouri.
