Sheila Marie Sorge (née Jessness)

September 22, 1934 – August 21, 2025

Sheila Marie Sorge, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 21, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born in Fosston, Minnesota, to Martin and Elnora Jessness, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roddy. On August 3, 1957, she married Peter Louis Sorge, and together they shared 68 years of faith and love.

Sheila worked as an analyst for the NSA in Washington, D.C., and later as a lumber contracts coordinator for the U.S. Forest Service. She delighted in sharing her gifts with others-her beautiful singing voice and love of opera, her skill as a quilter and seamstress, and her talent for baking and cooking all brought joy and comfort to family and friends. She was warm, fun, and full of life.

She is survived by her husband, Peter; son Eric and wife Daiana, with grandson Noah; daughter Patti and husband Jon, with grandchildren Emily (Ken), Nicholas, Christian (Olivia), Peter, and Nora; and a great-grandchild expected in April 2026.

Sheila will be remembered for her unwavering love of Christ, her devotion to family, and the warmth she shared with everyone around her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she now rests in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
