Shirley C. Nelson

Shirley Nelson, 86, of Missoula passed away Friday, November 4, 2022 at Community Medical Center in Missoula. She will be laid to rest at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.  Online condolences maybe left at gardencityfh.com.

Shirley C. Nelson, daughter of Leonard and Caroline (Bundus) Vandeberg, was born January 16, 1936 in Havre, Montana.  She graduated from Havre Central High School.  Shirley was united in marriage with Ivan Nelson in Havre, Montana in 1957. 

Shirley loved being a homemaker and raising the three children.  She was a talented cook who was constantly collecting new recipes.  Ivan and Shirley loved to travel and went on 44 cruises together. Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed. 

Shirley is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ivan Nelson II; her three children, Ivan (Dianne) Nelson III; Eric (Julie) Nelson; Lynn (Frank) Ripley; twin sister, Sharon (Frank) Bennett; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Caroline Vandeberg and 10 siblings.
