Shirley Jean Westre (Shelby)

MISSOULA – Shirley Jean (Shelby) Westre, 64, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 25, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born to Richard Schaap and Allie Mae Wehde on March 7, 1949. She grew up in Baltic, S.D., and was active in 4-H and church.

She moved to Missoula in 1995. Her loves included the Lord, family, friends, animals and the teachers and students at Meadow Hill School.

Survivors include Jack Westre; son, Troy (Candy) Westre; stepdaughter, Dawn (Eddy) Kanduch; and seven grandchildren, to whom she was fondly nicknamed "Mimi."

Preceding her in death are her father, mother and sister, Diane Schaap.

Celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at Clark Fork City Church, 2811 Latimer St., Missoula.
