Steven Peterson

Steven G. Peterson,64, of Seeley Lake, Montana, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at St. Patrick Hospital, Missoula following a brief illness.

Steve was born August 23, 1957 in Gold Beach, Curry County, Oregon to Arlie and Florence Peterson. The family moved to Missoula in the early sixties and Steve graduated from Sentinel High School in 1976. He went to work for the Missoula County Sheriff’s Department shortly after. Steve retired from the Sherriff’s office as a Deputy in 2005 with more than 23 years of service to the county. Not one to sit still he began working part time for Beach Transportation as a bus driver and continued with them until the time of his death.
Steve loved the outdoors and took whatever opportunity he could to be outside. He loved his “toys” and could be found on whatever machine suited the weather, be it a boat, snowmobile or four-wheeler. He was also quite the marksman and enjoyed target shooting when the opportunity presented itself.

Steve is survived by his parents Arlie and Florence; his children: Hope, Alea and Eric; his sister Sharon, several grandchildren, extended family and numerous friends.

A time of remembrance will be held in Steve’s honor on Thursday, November 4, a brief chapel service will begin at 1:00 with a gathering to follow until 3:00 pm at the First Lutheran Church in Missoula.
