Steven Lee Vance, 65, of Missoula, Montana, passed away on Monday, May 24th, 2022 at his residence after a period of declining health.
Steve was born May 11, 1957, in Lawrence, Kansas to Deanann and Robert Vance. Steve moved around a bit and had settled on the beautiful beaches of Hawaii when he retuned home for a friend’s wedding in Washington. On that trip he met Kathleen Jarvi and he never returned to Hawaii. They spent the next 35 years together raising their family in the beautiful outdoors of Montana.
Steve worked construction, doing siding on apartment buildings. When he had some downtime, he could be found outside. He loved camp, fish and hunt. He was able to get one elk in his lifetime which he fondly named “Ralph”, fortunately he was able to land many deer and antelope over the years.
Left to cherish Steve’s memory are his parents: Deanann and Robert; wife Kathleen; his children Jeremy (Cynthia) Jarvi, Tammy Bacon, Shelly Upton and Steven (Sam Bergman) Vance; grandchildren Kristina Jarvi, James Claxton, Brynn Jarvi, Kaylie Jarvi, Violet Claxton, Ava Gainan, Rikki Bacon, Elias Bergman, Aiden Bergman, Leium Vance and Julien Vance; great-grandson Siris Bouldin; his siblings Douglas Vance and Sue Sargent; many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his best friend and hunting buddy Fred Woodworth.
Per his wishes cremation rites have been afforded.
